Ah a new drummer…an end to the speculation at last! ;)

Hi Pete and welcome to Level 42 for a while…good luck cos you’ll need it with those lads…but I do mean that in the best way. You’ll no doubt have some jokes played on you, but I’m sure you will have the time of your life. What an honour to be chosen to stand in for the very talented, Mr Gary Husband! I look forward to hearing you in the upcoming UK tour where I will be at 2 gigs. You’re with a great bunch of lads there, so no doubt it will be great fun! I wish you the best.

Thanks Mark for letting us know and showing us such a great photo. Best wishes to you as always! xx :)

    Hi All,
Not being aware of Pete’s body of work I checked out his YouTube Drummer Live 2008 performances & his 1993 appearance on Blue Peter as a 13 year old.
And the conclusions I’ve come to are these. He is another in a long line of reasons why I should give up drumming, especially bearing in mind that his 13 year old self would wipe the floor with me.
That being said he looks like a splendid choice for the drumstool & I’m looking forward to studying his form from front & centre at The Sage Gateshead later this year. Who knows, perhaps some of his excellence will rub off on me. Failing that I’ll make a grab for one of his drumsticks at show’s end :-)

    Cheerio,
    Mark W.

Talking of ‘thumping the tubs’, and now that Mike is back in the fold, how about dusting off the cobwebs and giving the ‘Thunderthumbs And The Toetsenman’ number ‘Freedom’ an airing … worth a thought?

Speaking as a bass player & longtime Level42 fan a great choice.
By the way any chance you guys could do Glastonbury or one of the other festivals in the U.K. I know you’re semi-retired but it would be great if you could show what a great band you are

    Mark, Take a spelling detention!
HenlEy (with an “E”) will be absolutely WICKED!
We went last year to the first Rewind and it was BRILLIANT!
Can’t wait to see Rick Astley again … Oh, and and the cream of IOW talent!
See you there guys and again in Pompey on 15 October (that’s going to be one hell of a show coming “home” as it were).
Keep on funking it up …

    Bonjour Mark,
Just as a friendly reminder, The Montreal International Jazz Festival is also 30 this year! Hmmmm! Coincidence. I think not! How about a visit in Québec this summer? I know you a dying to get here. Did you know that their are daily flights to Montreal from Heathrow? It’s only six hours mate! We have a lot in common: Like the Isle of Wight, Montreal is one too! According to the Queen, we are your distant cousins and you will feel right at home here. Besides, if you get lost in Montreal, Wally B. will serve as your translator. I hear that his French is good!
All right, enough with the jokes: Seriously. ” LEVEL 42 ” ce produiront cet été au Festival de Jazz de Montréal 2010! Even announced in French bring music to my ears! Well Mark, you’re almost there!
L’espoir fait vivre. A bientot. Philippe de Montréal.

I’m very happy to see that Level 42 is going to visit Kiel/Germany again ths year – Chacka, Chacka it’s only about 50 km to go for me :-)
I hope the weather will be fine but anyway: I’ll be there, no matter what the weather will be like.
I’m currently considering Wally’s event in Paris with Mark, Mike and Phil. I guess I’ll check out the flights … what a damn good year 2010 will be!!!!
    Turn it on! -Tom
