We had a very nice day off in San Diego chilling out, with some of the guy’s renting Harley’s and hitting the freeway whilst yours truly laid by the pool sipping mohito’s
The Belly Up in Solana Beach, California was brill, and thanks once again to all you guys for coming out to see us. I thought you might be a little more laid back but you were as wild as the dudes back East!
Love to all, Mx

Hello Mark, (and of course Mike, Sean, Pete, and Nathan). I really hope that Level 42 will return to the US next year with Tampa, Florida (or anywhere in Florida actually) as one of your stops to perform. I’ve been a fan of your music since 1986, but couldn’t make the journey this tour.
Mark, because of you, I play the bass guitar (nowhere near your ability however). I hope the powers that be can make a stop in Florida a reality. Praying and keeping my fingers crossed.
Thank you.
Brian from Tampa
Unbelievable show. Better than when I saw them in Arundel in 2007. If anyone can get the tickets and time for the remaining North American shows, get out there and see them.
The show was outstanding, awesome, incredible.
The crowd was terrific too, adding to the overall great vibe. And so many young people, who knew all the words to all the songs.
Amazing show. Simply Brilliant. THANK YOU for coming out to the West Coast!!!
I’m looking forward to seeing you all again Saturday night at Club Nokia.
Much love to you all! :D
Lisa said it perfectly. Thank you so very much for coming out to the west coast. I’m so glad the San Diego fans didn’t let you down as you were right to think that they can be a bit laid back.
Waiting 20+ years for something you never expected to happen makes for a whole different concert experience and certainly the fans on Wednesday night knew it was a very special night too. Everyone in The Belly Up rocked that place all night long!
Brilliant high energy show at the Belly Up. Looking forward to seeing Level 42 again.
Hope you were using those Mojitos to wash down some fish tacos.
I also loved that they came out after the show, not a lot of bands do that anymore. I finally got to meet Mark and Mike after they have influenced my bass and keyboard playing for 25 years. A night I’ll remember forever.
Can’t say thank you enough for the opportunity to see Level 42 live at the Belly Up. By chance I was chosen to drive you that short distance to the Se. At the age of 48, I’ve seen many bands, shows, concerts, etc.,but on July 28th, 2010 I witnessed a nearly perfect performance by a bunch of nice guys. The sound was flawless…everywhere in the club. This ranks as probably the best “concert” I have heard/seen. As a player/musician myself ( my band leader is playing the Belly Up tonight…Hank Easton of Steely Damned) backing up the likes of Brecker Bros., Skywalk, Acoustic Alchemy, Rippingtons, and other notables, and being a stickler about the ethics of music, i.e. dynamics, tempo, tuning, communication between players, and everything but the notes themselves, I want this to mean more than a compliment from a fan. I’m sure all members of the band, (and you as well, Dave) have had those moments where inspiration + energy + music = LIFE , when skin bumps are makin’ the hair on your arms stand at attention, and the chemistry of now is comparable to sex ( maybe for me a really good meal…haha, I don’t get enough booty anymore)…these are some of the feelings I left with last night. I wanted to talk to all of you but so did everyone, understandably. PLEASE read or fwd. this to all members of Level 42 and remember me not as just a fan, but a friend who looks forward to our next meeting.
Regards from your S.D. driver, Jim
I was smiling all day at work today. I finally got to see Level 42 up close and LIVE! Your music was the soundtrack for my high school and college years. Thank you for playing in San Diego! Mark–your playing is mesmerizing. My friend had to jostle me a few times to make sure I was breathing.
Fantastic show!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! You guys absolutely made the life of my husband, Rich (bass player) our friend Tom (rabid fan) and our friend Rene (drummer), along with myself! We drove over from Phoenix, Arizona just for the show and are so happy we did! You are such wonderful, tight musicians and apparently all around great guys! Keep up the awesome work that you obviously enjoy so much and we will keep being your loving fans!
Thank you so much again for taking the time to come to the states!

Hello Mark, Mike, Nathan, Sean, and Pete. We can’t thank you enough for the wonderful performance at the Belly Up in San Diego, it was masterful. Having had the privilege of seeing multiple live performances over the years from groups such as Steely Dan, Weather Report, Charles Mingus, and Frank Zappa, you guys blew me away. We drove 6 hours each way for the show, and would happily do so again. You are all great players, your singing is spot on, and unlike some groups, are as tight live as your studio recordings (if not more so). The five of us all agreed, it was the most inspiring musical performance we’d ever heard and seen. Mark, speaking as a bassist myself, you are a joy to listen to and watch; effortless mastery both playing and singing, terrific songwriting and lyrics, and wonderful energy onstage. PLEASE, PLEASE come back to San Diego in the future, we’d love to see you again. P.S.; One Man is a brilliant CD Mark, thank you.

Mark(and the rest of L42),what can I say that hasn’t been said above. Had a great time at the Belly Up Tavern and at the Nokia in NYC! My sister also had a great time celebrating her birthday. Made it very special being there. Mark you are such a “teddy bear”! Thanks for the hugs!!
You guys are awesome and I am looking forward to seeing you back in the USA SOON. Maybe Texas? I want to see you wearing your TX t-shirts!! ;) I am back home now (Dallas/FtWorth) but the party continues for me just listening to you guys. I won’t forget you in your leather pants! Wish I had brought a camera back then;) Lots of Love!!! Elsa (aka Tracy2)
Dude,
the belly up was perfect, when i practice your songs, playing and singing, it makes me a better player and a feeling of accomplishment. but when i finally saw you play live and seen how easy you make it. WOW, great bass, vocal and chewing gum! thanks for the best lesson and entertainment to date. please come back or i may stock you :)

What can I say…you guys ROCKED!!! Following y’all up and down the west coast (and in the DC area) was amazing & the experience totally exceeded my expectations. Somewhat therapeutic, in fact. :) Cannot wait to see ya again next year….maybe in my homestate of Texas (hint, hint). Thank you for coming out after every show to say hello and spend a little time with your fans. We are so appreciative of your talents and effort. Love to you all….Teresa from Texas xx
