Yes – A great Gig – my 17th attendance in 30 years – I remember the Sheffield Lyceum where you tried out a new track ‘Are you Hearing What I Hear’ and I went home and put my bass back in it’s case!

Years later and with a few tips from Mark himself backstage after a gig at Manchester Poly, my own band were covering “Love Games” and other greats.

It was a real nostalgia trip to hear all those old favourites again – and I swear that is the fastest you’ve ever played “Almost There”!!
    Simply Brilliant!

    Hi Mark,

Really looking forward to hearing “43″ but what happened to the EP? I didn’t expect it to be on sale necessarily but am gutted there’s no new material in the set.

    Best,

    Paul

Thanks to all of you for yet another great night.Mark our daughter Anna had her photo taken with both you and Mike she is only 17 but has listened to you all of her life and although she likes a lot of the new stuff she still loves Level 42 so she was made up that you both took the time for a photo with her so you will now take pride of place on her facebook page with Chipmunk, Tynchie Stryder and Ironik etc!! Have a great tour, thanks again and hopefully see you in 2012 if not before.

Great gig guys! You get better every time.

I never thought that I would be at the front of the Apollo stage, dancing like a mamadman to “The Chinese Way” 23 years after the first time I did it!

Mark-I was the nutter in the City shirt who moaned at you for not playing my favourite tune…sorry about that….;-)

Got the gaffa tape off you though…so it was all worth it….

Thanks for making an old man very happy…ha ha!!

You were all absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed myself immensely and, if possible, it was an even better set than two years ago. Unbelievable gig – I wish you all the best for the rest of the tour, and can’t wait until I can see you all again.

I have been with you all the way. 29 years ago (at least) I saw you at the University of East Anglia (Norwich) and was blown away. Nothing’s changed.

For a couple of hours I was twenty again. Thanks.

I just watched the above link with the percussion number, and all I can say is……wow. Holy CRAP I’m impressed at the talent of all of you gentlemen! I have grown up with drums and percussion instruments all my life. My dad is a drummer. I have also grown up with Level 42 since I was 12 (I’m 42 years old now….42…42…42 why does that ring bells?)and I thank you for getting me through the formative years of my life. Your music helped me get through some rough times. I especially loved listening to your tunes while studying. The more I listened to your music, the better I did! Thanks for the A’s. I just have one little question…..WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO CANADA? In particular, Toronto?

I wish you all well and that you have an awesome tour. I hope to see you soon in person.

    Take Care

Mark, Mike, Nathan, Sean and Pete,

I was there last night (high-light of my year)!
Kansas City Milkman made my night and of course the slap-base/drum percussion piece. Just wished I could have spent the whole of the concert dancing at the front. Who needs seats? You can’t sit down listening to beats like that!!!

I want to see you again now, don’t think I can wait until you next return to Manchester. :(
    See you soon, jodie x

Thanks for such a great night Mark. All of you were fantastic. You played ‘To Be With You Again’ my favourite tune.

Thanks for a fantastic night! Was so looking forward to it and was certainly not disappointed. Was a Level 42 concert going virgin before Manc on Sunday but will absolutely, definitely be going again. It would be great nearer home in Leeds next time though.

Can’t say what is my favourite song as I really love them all though I have to say that my favourite bit is when Mark sings yeah, yeah – such a fabulously funky voice!
Have been a 42 fan since the 80s when I was a young un.

I first saw Level 42 at Leeds University back in the early nineties and again a few years later at Leeds T & C and at the Albert Hall a few years ago,but the gig in Manchester was the best yet for me. Thanks to all the band for such great music over the years, Sunday night was really special for me. My mate, a Level 42 gig virgin was blown away. What a drummer Pete is, but Nathan and Sean are such great players too and the whole band seems to have a wonderful chemistry onstage. Wish I could afford to see you on another date of the tour, but I hope the rest of the tour goes well and you tour again soon in the UK. I didn’t come up to the stage at the end of the gig, but how nice of Mike and yourself to linger onstage to meet fans, never seen any band do that before!

P.S. Hearing 43 live was just amazing and Mike got the crowd on their feet with the lovely Starchild!

I’ve been a fan since 1985 when I bought my brother the ‘World Machine’ album for his birthday. He’s an idiot and didn’t like it. I loved it and have followed the band ever since. Sunday night’s gig in Manchester was the best ever! The gig I have waited for since I was a kid. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou!

AS a young punk i stumbled into the Limit Club in Sheffield (would it be ’80 or ’81?).Level 42 were playing .It was a sound like i’d never encountered before .It blew me away then, and Sunday night it blew me away again. There’s been some great Level 42 nights inbetween, may there be many more in the future.
