    Hi Mark,
Thanking you in anticipation for tomorrow night. In the dim recesses of your mind, do you remember some fifteen year old girls hanging around the Wogan studios c1987? Among our group was a pair of twins called Rosie and Jude and you called their house to wish them luck in their GCSEs? Well anyway…we’re all coming to Indigo2 tomorrow (although we’re all now c38 yrs old!). We are frothing at the mouth with excitement.
Look out for us in the standing area; we’re a lot cooler than we were in the 80s!
Love from Lisa, Julie, Jude, Ro and Han xxx

    Margate Madness

Decided I would play the Mark King/ Mike Lindup version of the Rowntrees fruit pastel game i.e. how long into the gig could i get before the overwhelming urge to start slapping my thumb or doing keyboard stabs became too great. (what? – don’t lie you’ve all done it)

    Answer – about 4 seconds.

Initially worried as I was down from London and used to gigs of this size being a total mosh and Margate seemed to have ‘turned out the light’ but they locked into it after a while and started roaring. The venue is really well laid out and genteel (by London standards). I’ll be back.

Ive always wanted to see you guys live and I was overwhelmed. Rhythmically and technically your just a really ‘tight’ outfit and with so much laid back funk that even after three days I’m still half stepping round my flat and at work trying not to ‘chew’ (see above)

What more auspicious occasion could we get? – 30th anniversary tour and MK’s birthday to boot. I’m honoured to have been there and had a fantasic evening. I’ll not forget it and can’t wait for next time.

    Thank you.

Love what you do, love the way you do it.

    cheers

    Mister G

Brilliant to see you here in Margate lads. First time I saw ‘The Level’ was in about ’81- ’82 at Canterbury University supporting Jules Holland. Awesome then as now. Thanks for comming to Margate, glad the sun shone on your birthday Mark, even if it was a bit chilly. Ant.
