He is right up there with Neil Peart,I did not want the evening to end I have not stopped talking to my partner all day today about the gig and will bring it to the front of my mind and smile when the daily pressures of work get me down!

Ive been to about 5 level 42 gigs now, but this was by far the best one … and I agree with Mark Mongers comments, when things get tough at work I’ll just think of Sunday 24th Oct @ the cliffs … Absolutely fantastic guys WELL DONE and THANK YOU

What a return to Southend….some 27 years after our last visit. Brilliant as ever and I got to wear my 1982 purple and grey lady T-shirt again(circa 1982). Yes it still fits but more snug than back in the day. Can I find a ticket for Ipswich?

Brilliant night in ‘Sunny’ Southend! First time I’ve seen you play live but it was well worth the wait. I’d have loved to hear Heaven In My Hands as I used to play it really loud to my son before he was born! Fantastic. I’ll be going to another one of your gigs in the future. My big brother Steve saw you at the O2 on Saturday.Thanks.xxx

    Posted 25 October 2010 at 15:04 |

I totally agree with Mark Monger about the sound quality at the Indigo2. And yes Traceydraper1 I’m still buzzing and bouncing around like a demented tigger. OMG the Level 42 boys seem to whipped up a freenzy of excitment around them. I think I speak on behalf of all die hard fans in saying there will be alot of people suffering from withdrawal symtoms when It’s Over (the tour) Can’t say thank you enough :) xxxx

Lads let me run this past you perhaps one for the future?Lets have a Level 42 Convention,Lets get about 2,000 of us to take over Centre Parcs for a 3 day event Fri-sun out of season so the accomadation is cheap,we enjoy the setting and relax during the day with maybe you signing a few bits for us then you do 3 live sets for us 1 per evening and perhaps we could have a bit of a party on the last night! As a ball park figure the total cost for the whole event would be about £150 each what do you think?

    Up there with guaranteed Live
Pete is awesome on the drums!
Thanks for the ball Mark and thanks for a great night. You have a made a new fan in my other half that’s for sure. Missed leaving me now – wanted to hear it purely for mike’s solo at the end. 43 rocked! How long till the DVD release ? PLEASE write a book someday boys i’m fed up with these “flash in the pan” boybands having 3 out in their first year surely 30 years is a good time to do one D’ya think???

I have to agree with the said comments above about Saturday at the IndigO2 – it was absolutley AMAZING! And it was my first time seeing the guys live – worth the wait :D And i will admit, i was one of the younger ladies in the crowd that didnt look 30…..i’m 22 to be exact!

I guess it’s a bit odd to like a band thats been going longer than i’ve been living, but i tell you something – Level 42′s music is better than some of the music on the radio today – give me some of that jazz/funk, bass slapping goodness anyday :D! And i would happily see them again in 2012! Think you’ve got a new fan for life here ;)!

  39. Posted 3 November 2010 at 13:43 |

I really didn’t know what to expect, I’ve always been a huge fan of Level 42. From the stage I was at the top right in the seating area upstairs. I walked straight from my seat to the glass screen a the front in complete awe. The energy projected from the stage was just incredible. I was witnessing the most amazing bass player I’ve ever seen. (Ok, I had a little crush on him too some time ago ha ha!) I drew a picture of Level42 from the Guaranteed album and sent it to the fan club, I waited but never received anything :(!

I started listening to Level 42 when I was 5, here I am 33 still loving it. Timeless music. When ‘It’s Over’ started I closed my eyes sat back and couldn’t actually believe – here I am, Level 42 are playing here, right now….Loved every minute of it.

In 2002, a close friend went out to get me Mark King’s autograph from Isle of Wight, I had the biggest moment of my life then.

Just would be a dream to have had a photograph together with Mark King.

My favourite song is (and believe me it’s difficult to choose) Starring At The Sun……amazing song.

The drummer was just incredible – I’ve been to many concerts before Pat Metheney Group etc…but wow, astounding.

What a great show, the Indigo2 was perfect venue, the finishing touches like the balls, glitter and lighting……the setting – perfect.

I did try my best to scream and clap.

I would without a doubt see them again. I travelled to see Level 42 as I’m not from London. But I’d certainly go see them again.

Thank you Mark and all of Level 42 for making an extremely buzzing evening. XX

    Sara

Had a great time at the gig on the 22nd at the Indigo2 – front row with Clare, Steph, Jim, Tim, Brad (from the US)- Great Band, Great Fans, Great Night – roll on the dvd and hope me raising my pint to Mark King at the begining doesn’t get lost on the editing floor ;)

Also hasten to add that Pete is an amazing drummer and a great addition to an already great group.

Can’t wait for the next Tour!

Best Wishes to Level 42 and the fans
