In 1990 Mark King asked me to come up to his Summerhouse Recording Studio in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight in England, to take photographs of Level 42 recording their “Guaranteed” Album. A great experience and I had the pleasure of watching guitarist Alan Holdsworth in action. Time to put the cameras down and watch a master.

Newport Hospice Shop – Grand Opening 30th June 2012
LEVEL 42 frontman Mark King opened the new flagship Earl Mountbatten Hospice shop in Newport on 30th June 2012.
The modern premises provide almost 5,000 sq ft of retail space over two floors — twice the size of the old shops — and will slash running costs by around a third.
Matt Everitt’s mastery of the bass revealed
Shaun Keaveny’s music news reporter Matt Everitt recently declared that he could play any U2 bass line as good as Adam Clayton. It just so happened Level 42 bass wizard Mark King was listening and offered to teach Matt how to play. The resulting rock school tutorial was hilarious and saw Matt apparently quickly learning to play the slap bass. This video proves it was indeed all Mark!
